FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Declan Dineen presents

#MEETANDTWEET

In January 2013 Declan Dineen had a lazy notion on a Saturday afternoon: 'Wouldn't it be fun to try and meet everyone who followed me on twitter?' This show is about what happened when he acted on that impulse. A story of drunken nights, awkward chats, going viral, Daily Mail readers, Iranian TV, punks, politicians, magicians and 10,000 new followers. A story about what it means to be social in the 21st century.

As featured in the Huffington Post, The Independent, The Daily Mail, The Mail on Sunday, BBC News, BBC Radio Scotland, the Next Web, STV, Al Hurra TV, The Times of India, Le Journal de Geek, Bild.de, Jeleeb.com and many, many more.

It was a modest idea, he only had around 160 followers. It was doable. This was never meant to be a show at all, just a fun project to work on and a chance to meet some cool people. But when the story went viral in September 2013, when Declan was just 7 people away from hitting his target, all that changed. He gained 12,000 new followers. Maybe this would make a good show after all.

‘Desperate for a pal.’ – Daily Mail Commenter

This show is not just about Declan, but about the 150 people he met on his quest: artists, politicians, magicians, DJs, punk rockers, directors, bankers, bakers, wrestlers and doctors from all over the world.

And it doesn't stop now. #meetandtweet will continue to grow throughout the fringe. At the start of every show audience memebers will be invited to leave their twitter handle in a bowl – as they leave they take a random handle and arrange to meet a stranger for a drink. Who knows what will happen?
